For a long time rough weather has been the rule for January saleday, hot last Monday was a lovely exception, being as mild a* a May day. Conse quently tbe town was us full of visitors as it ever has been on such an occasion. Denmark, taking out the right eye, w hich was so badly affected that it | would have made him totally blind in both. The patient is now up and doing well, and can see perfectly with the other. A Georgia farmer has discovered a process for roasting cotton seed by which the lint—the hitherto fatal ob stacle to their use as hog food—is burn ed off, the hulls rendered brittle and the kernel greatly improved. He says : “1 do not at the present time rai#«h any corn at all. I roast and grind cot ton seed lute meal and feed it to every thing 1 raise. 1 drain it equivalent to any food that is aver foil to. animals It is better than oil meal; its virtue has not been ’ extracted. Hr will keep for any length of time, and will not mould, get musty or turn sour. I can make as much pork from IK) pounds of roasted cotton seed as I can from 100 pounds of cdfh.
