ceremonies, gracefully and graciously.
He was so well supported by the several
committees that his labor was an easy
one.
Miss Loulie Peacock presided at the
organ and contributed so well to theen-
jnymeiit of lovers of good music that
other performers are advised to take
notes and not forget them.
Addresses were delivered by Messrs.
Howard Patterson and George Bates,
of Barnwell, Rev. 1). W. Key, of Wil-
H-u.h, ami Master Arthur Damar Watt,
of - Dunbartbp. They were all good
*>peeches, the last being admittedly the
best. It is a hopeful sign for the fu
ture w hen a ten year old country lad’s
maiden effort dow ned so well the efforts
of a coupl«> of trained lawyers and
matched tliceloquenceof a minister with
few peers and no superior.
The drill and parade of the Gordons
brought back many memories of what
is now growing to be the long ago. W ith

in exeliange for it. Good* may be very
cheap, but cannot be obtained for no
thing. A long time ago land was at a
low price in some- part* of Texas. A
traveler remarked that when there he
could have bought a good little tt'act for
a pair of boots. When asked why he
did not trade, he said he didn’t have the
boots.
The concentrated force of the Alli
ance can effect an improved financial
policy of the government, and render
the purchasing power of the farmer’s
mean* greater than it now is. The
same force* well directed can enable far
mer* to hold one fourth of this year’s
product, until one half a crop of the
over produced staple is in the ground
for the crop of 92; and an increased
crop of home supplies. The one fourth
thus held, will have a greater value be
cause of the half only planted, and will
he good security for money borrowed
by those w ho cannot hold without.
