By 10 o'clock a. is. the grounds were alive with human beings; there were at least nine hundred people present, rep resenting three counties and all trades and professions, among whom was an old lady one hundred and fixe years old. About 11 o’clock the assembly w as call ed to order by Capt. R. J. Steedly, then prayer by Rev. Mr. Kinsey, Dr, J, William Stokos was then introduced to the congregation as one of the speakers of the day. Ho urged and showed the absolute necessity of a practica} educa tion of funner* in order thru they may succeed, Uo dellx'ered an excellent and ejoquent address bearing directly upon 1 the speculators and the .manner in which they rule the farmers. - , After a long and lute resting speech by Dr. Stokes the lion.
