Murchison and Francis Nolan McCorkle that they would be can didates for the State Senate to succeed Senator Robert M. Kennedy, Jr., who has announced that he will not tie a candidate for re-election. Kershaw county voters this year will have to elect a state senator, two house members, sheriff, judge of probate, auditor, treasurer, and county board of commissioners.
