Halsall, Lyttleton st. They have been attending R.O.T. C. summer encampment in Vir ginia. Mrs. I. R. Hayes and daughter, Miss Mary Hayes of Sarsfield Avenue, left on Tuesday of this week for an extended visit to the former’s son, Robert H. Hayes, in Bismarck, North Dakota. “Bob” is a former Kershaw county boy, having been born and reared in Kershaw. He has many friends in Camden who will be interested in knowing that for the past two years he has been chief civilian engineer with the Garrison Dam Project on the Missouri river. He is married to the former Gloria Pearce of Albuquerque, New Mex ico, and they with their two young daughters now reside at “River- dale,” near Mismarck. Among the Camdenites staying in Linville, N. C., for the summer are the Granger Gaithers,-' who have with them their grandchil dren, Peggy and Mikie Kerr of Monckton, Md. They are stopping at the Eseeola Lodge. Also at the lodge are the W. R. Bonsai's and' their family. Mr. and Mrs. C. C Whitaker, Jr., and daughter. Mary, are at the Henley Inn and Mr. and Mrs. David R. Williams have recently returned from a business trip to Oklahoma and have opened their cottage. They have as their guests, their son, David R. Women's Club Enjoy Picnic Supper On Hermitage Lake The Business and Professional Women’s Club held their meeting on Monday evening at the sum mer home of Mrs. H. S. Steadman and Miss Sarah Steadman on Hermitage Lake. Over 60 members were present and a delicious picnic supper, catered by Thomas Tavern, was served" on the lawn by the water. Following supper an interesting prograta was given by Francis Hicks, assistant Home Demon stration Agent, and chairman of the Health and Safety committee. August being the month set aside to stress health and public safety, Miss Hicks urged each member to have a physical check up during the month. Spl Bailey of the South Carolina State High way Department, Columbia, showed a movie on “Safety on the Highway.” Mrs. J. C. Team gave two amus ing readings, which were followed by the regular business meeting. It was anhounced that the State Board at the Business and Pro fessional Women’s Club would hold an Over-night meeting in Camden it the Court Inn on Sept. 17, which is a great honor for this newly organized chapter.
