The committee would be < poeed of nine residents el county, three of whom mus officially asaociated with the ope ration of the public schools of the county and who shall, in the opin ion of the legislative delegation, be representative of the varioui geograpical and other interests of the county. The bill provides that the May ors of Camden.- Blanch, Kershaw and Bethune shall, ex-officio, be members of the committee but they will nod have the right to vote on any matters voted upon by the committee. The committee would be known as the Kershaw County Schoo District Reorganization Com mittee and its duties as listed in the bill would be: To make a study of the present division of the coun ty into school districts, with consideration given to the adequacy of financial re sources for proper school sup port, the quality of the in structional program, the de gree to which the present plan of organization affords proper educational opportuni ties to pupils in the county. To formulate a plan for the consolidation and reorgani zation of existing school dis tricts, which plan shall pro vide for not more school dis tricts than there are high school districts in the county and to submit the plan so formulated to the County Board of Education of the county Hd the Commencement at Camden High School will get under way Sunday night when the sermon to the members of the graduating class will be preached by the Rev. A. D. McArn, pas tor Bethesda Presbyterian church. The service will be held in the auditorium of the Camden Grammar School, and will begin at 8:80 o’clock. Tuesday night in the Grammar School auditorium there will be a rythm and reading program, un der the direction ofMrs. Willie Tiller and Hal Middleton. in the Gram mar School auditorium the gradu ating exercisas will be held.
