1 k- = THE CAMDEW Rubber Coating Is Impervious To The Elements ' .: k , ~ ■* A mineral rubber coating that is impervous to heat cold, water, oxygen, nitrogen and acids is now being handled by the Camden Lumber Company. It is claimed for Elaterite that no other material in the world has every equalled its amazing protective character. This hydro carbon is rare and is found in quantities only in the state of Utah wheer outside of the mines controlled by the company manu facturing Elaterite there is but a limited amount of workable ore in ff. L. Hammond Dies At Age Of 82 Years Haynes Lenon Hammond, 82, died at his home, 303 Wateree Avenue, on Sept 16 after an ill ness of two months. He had been in the shoe business for many years. Funeral services were held the Wateree Baptist church 21 and interment followed in the Wateree cemetery. Mr. Hammond is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Boan Ham mond; one daughter, Mrs. W. S. Ward, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, S. F. Hammond, of Dar lington; three sisters, Mrs. Mary L. Lynch of Chesterfield, Mrs. Hanson of Rockingham, and Mrs. W. F. Davis of Darlington. Mr. and Mrs. Thurmond Denny of Columbia visited Mr. and Mrs. James West Sunday. Miss Willie Mae Elliott, a senior at Winthrop College, left Sunday to resume her studies there. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bird of Sa vannah, Ga., visited her sister. Mrs. J. R. Teal and family Satur day. Johnnie Davis, who is attend ing Business College in Columbia, returned there this week. Mrs. Alma Rozier, who is doing practical nursing, left Mondav to resume her work in Hartsville. School opened last Thursday at Midway with appropriate exer cises. Great improvements have been made during the summer. Some new equipment, pretty curtains and some painting add pictures for the new lunch room, all make an attractive place for the school. Mrs. Ogburn (affectionately known as Gjanny) of Kershaw spent last week with her daugh ter, Mrs. W. L. Young. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Rozier of Cayce were visitors here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Ford and small son from Ridgeway and Mr. Chalk from Columbia visited Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ford Sunday. Smith Returns From Training Meet In Oconee : . "'r ' L L. E.
