Phone 390-W. 48c Convict Kitchen, Mess Hall Burned The kitchen und guards mess hall at. the Kershaw county convict camp was destroyed by fire Tues day morning. It is .believed that a defective flue was responsible. Some of the equipment in the kitchen was saved by guards and (•( iivlcts who fought the hlazq. Water that was poured bn the fire quickly froze and in a measure liclped to combat the spread of the fire to other buildings. Emergency measures were util ized in restoring mess service to ibe camp. The buildings will be re- built at •once.
