Mrs. Emma Barfield Called By Death Mrs. Emma Bowers Barfield. 76, died at 7:30 Saturday morning, December 13, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Horton of Bethune, after a lingering Illness. Funeral services were conducted' the following Sunday afternoon at 2:80 from Oak Ridge Baptist church, of which she was a mem ber, by the pastor. Rev. J. T Outen and Rev. T. B. Altman of Bethune. She was the widow of Lewis E Barfield, who preceded her to the grave almost three years. She is survived by two sons. lAewis Barfield of Kershaw. Ed ward Barfield of Camden: two daughters. Smilax, pine and polnaettaa were used in various arrangements throughout the house and the table in the dining room was centered with a silvered Hawthorne tree decorated with colored gum drops. The tree was placed in a tub made of peppermint sticks tied with wide red satin ribbon. Ambrosia with fruit- cake and coffee was served before the card game and prizee at the two tables were won by Mrs. John L. Team and Mrs. Leonard Schenk for high scores.
