C. ’Phone 62 Camden Jumped ahead in the second quarter, after a scoreless first period during which the Bulldoga ran up a heavy yardage, when Johnny Anderson rang the bell on a spinner from the two yard line. -The Bulldogs bad marched the leather down field and It was only a six foot dash for Anaerson to reach pay dirt. Jimmy Cox, who has been doing some fancy place ment stnff this season, booted the ball squarely between the posts for the extra point. The first half produced no furth er scoring and the fans sat back to^njoy a second half which they believed would be replete with iiensational play. It was, but It was all Camden. The Bulldoga through the medium of a plunge from the one-yard atrip by Ander son and Barmer’s dash Into the end zone on a reverse from the three yard line, ran the Camden total to 21 as Cox continued to ajm accurately and boot the Jeath* er safe for the conversiem points. The fourth and final touchdown came.- tn -the final ■ quarter when- Barmer went ten yards on a re verse to score. Cox missed on the kick tor the extra point. The Bulldogs showed a marked Improvement over the sluggish play that was evidenced at the Lancaster tilt the Monday before. At the same time the abort four day period between games, added to the fact that soggy grounds pre vented any practice sessiona dur ing the week, caused a number of the Camden talent to show signs of tiredness In the closing minutes of the game. ^ Camden’s usual strong defense was again in evidence, the Bull dogs effectively curbing the Spar tans offensive play. Between halves of the game Miss Lynn Boykin of Boykin a high school student, was crowned queen of the homecoming event. This bit of pageantry, together with some clever maneuvers by the Camden band caused much enthusiasm in the ranks of the fans. Other' High School Games Rock Hill had no trouble defeat ing Lancaster Friday night the score being 20 to 0. The Bearcats scored three times in the first quarter and coasted the balance of the game. A wet and slippery field caused many fumbles on the part of both teams. North Charlestcn found the Co- Inmbia Caps tough in the first half which ended with the score 7 to 0 in favor of the Cooper River team. In the second half the Caps wilted and North Charleston ran wild, to win by a 48 to 0 score.
