The Sinclair bulk plant of the
Sinclair Refining company is now
owned and managed by E. B. (Ned)
Beard.
In the announcement of the new
ownership, it is stated that the
company will be at the Central
Filling Station, next door to the
Redfearn Motor company garage on
DeKalli atreet.
The Camden I’etroleum company
at this time haa alx filling atatlona
in Camden, but under the manage
ment of .Mr, Beard, the company
ptaha to expand as rapidly as pos-
alble.
N'ed Beard was affiliated with his
father -in the oU business for sev
eral years before he went into
the service -during the last war.
After the war he returned to his
father’s employment and has been
with him the past two years. This
experience has served to fit him
for the exacting duties of manager
of the new company.
C. E. Watts, who has been in
charge of the Sinclalre oil interests
here for several years, will con
tinue in the employ of Mr. Beard.
The company will handle all Sin-

The Marine reerotting office has
announced that a representative of
the Marine Corps will he'In Cam
den every Thursday morning of
this month for the purpose of ex
plaining the many advantages of
an enlistment in the Marines.
Stating that all men between the
ages of 17 and 28 who are physical
ly fit and mentally alert are
eligible for enlistmeat, the an
nouncement emphasized the fact
that all men 18 years of age and
over no longer need the consent of
their parents before being accepted
for enlistment. Men 17 years of age
otin are required to present the
written consent of their parents or
guardian before being accepted.
The recruiting office of the
Marines will be located in the post
office building.

who Underwent an operation at
Moores Clinic, Columbia, last Fri
