JULY 25, 1947 FOR SHAME MR FARLEY 0 11 ■ I'** After reading “Big Jim" Farley’s article, “Why I Broke With Roosevelt", currently appearing in Col lier’s magazine, we are forced to the conclusion that “Big Jim" is adding absolutely nothing to his stature —and is substracting little if any from that of the late president. We admit surprise that “Big Jim" would let his “ghost writer" go as far as he has in his tirade against the late Franklin D. Roosevelt. We do not believe that any man can build himself up by seeking to tear an other man dowh^^—especially when the other man is y dead and cannot defend himself. In that connection .let us add that the splenetic and irascible Westbrook Pegler has been proven guilty of falsehood in his statement that the late presi- dent had purchased only one or two $60 war bonds. Facts proved that Mr. Roosevelt expended well over a hundred thousand in purchasing dif war bonds. Getting back to “Big Jim". He wanted to be president. He wanted big money. Roosevelt did not cooperate with hiin in these ambitions. Mr. Farley now vents his disappointment by seeking to smear the late president Mr. and Mrs. HnnUd McCaakUl announce the birth of a aoSr Robert Edward McCaakUl, on Thitreday, July 17, at the Camden hoayltsl.
