King of Be- thune announce the marriage of their daughter, Sarah, to R. L. Hughens, Jr., of Atlanta. The ceremony was perfor’ued in McDonough, Ga., May 24 in the presence of a few close friends Miss Ellen Jewell of Atlanta was the bride’s maid of honor and only attendant. She wore a becoming suit of forest green with black ac cessories. Her corsage was of white carnations. Bill Hljidman, of Atlanta, was the groom’s best man. The lovely bride was given In marriage by Prank Kell. She wore a powder blue dress with matching top coat and her accessories were pink and black. Her corsage was of pink split carnations. Mrs. Hughens is the only daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. King. She attended the Bethune schools and for the past two years has resided in Atlanta where she is employed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures. Mr. Hughens is the only son of Mr. and Mrs, R. L. Hughens. He attended the Atlanta city schools and Georgia EJvenlng college. Auxiliary In Last Meeting Is Pleased With Activities The last meeting of this season of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Camden hospital was held Monday, May 26 Election of officers took place and was as follows; Mrs. H. G. Carrlson, vice president; Mrs. George Nicholson, secretary, and Mrs. F. E. West, corresponding secretary. ' Mrs. H. G. Gaither as president and Mrs. Robert Taller as treas urer continue their terms tor an other year. Furniture for 11 bedrooms In the nurses home has been order ed. The famden hospital will fur nish the mattresses for the beds and thua ftnaMaa furnish more rooms than originally planned. The suit cbenette in the nurses home was open for inspection to the members, and much praise tor the work and admiration for the results were heard from all by Mrs. Gaither and Mrs. Taller, who had worked hard to make it so complete and attractive. After the business meeting, the student nurses were invited to Join the ladies of the auxilairy for a pleasant social hour with re freshments. She celebrated her third birthday with a party at ‘‘Cherokee Planta-* tlon”, the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Cantey (Har riet Beard). She greeted her guests iu a white frock with a lavender hair ribbon tied to her precious red curls. Her young guests wore charmed with all the attractions of the plantation, the wind mill, chickens and biddies, dogs and cats, sand pile, swings and numerous other things. A “fishing pool” was placed at one end of the yard and each young guest “fished” for hli favor. A color scheme of yellow and green was carried out in the decorations on the table In the dining room with a low bowl of mixed yellow flowers, yellow candles and hold ers, the green and yellow decorated birthday cake and the paper hats and Individual candy cups further carrying out the effect, About 45 gueau with their “Mommies" and nurses along with Mary’t grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.
