The members of the Junior Wel

turkey dinner was served them.
This was in honor of two new
members. Miss Frances Rhame and

The table was beautifully decorated
with spring flowers. Each member
received her duties in connectoin
with the Carolina Cup races and
the plans for the annual tonsil
clinic were discussed. Mrs. Esther
Mahaffey is chairman of this pro

will be the Fashion Show that la

of the Court Inn on the afternoon
of Friday, March 21, beginning at
3:30 o’clock.
The affair is to be sponsored by
the Wqman’s Auxiliary of Grace
Episcopal church and will feature
12 models showing gowns from The
Clothee Tree and hats from the
Hat Box-
Tea will also be served during
the afternoon. The admission fee
is $1 which includes the refresh
ments. :
Next week the auxiliary will
make announcement as to the
model personnel and also addition
al facts regarding the show.

Funeral rites of Ed G. Davis, 62,
who was instantly killed near
Lancaster early Wednesday even
ing when bis car left the road, was
held in the Methodist church
Thursday afternoon oy his pastor.
Rev. J. V. Murray, assisted Ay Rev.
W. L. Baker of the Presbyterian
church and T. B. Altaian of the
Baptist church. He was laid away
in the Bethel cemetery beneath a
mound of flowers.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs.
I.ieatba Elliott Davis; three daugh
ters, Mrs. M. M. Gardner, Mrs.
James Bolton and Mrs. Richard
Jacobs; six brothers, Sam Davis,
Bethune: Jim Davis, Thomasvllle,
Ga.; Rosier Davis, Columbia;
Dewey and Olyn Davis of this
county; one sister, Mrs. Fanny Hall
of McBee, and a number of nieces
and nephews.
