Elder Hartley of this city officiated ustog the doable ring ceremony. The home of Mrs. Colin CroUey, a sister-in-law of the groom, where the ceremony took place, was fes tive with Tale* decorations. The room in which the knot was tied was in traditional bridal white and green. Two tall cand^bra with lighted taperd, white gladioli, poln- settas and ferns were used effec tively. Donald Crolley. brother of the groom, lighted the tapers. Th^ groom was attended by Mr. Player, while Miss Has^ Adam was maid of honor. For hw wedding gown the bride wore grey with brown accessories and a pnrple* throated orchid. Following the ceremony an tar formal reception was h^d. The bride’ is the daughter of Mrs. Lonlse Farmer of Qoldvllle. She was edu cated in the Camden, schools and at Clinton. She took nurses train ing at the Camden hospital and in New Orleans. ff 'The groom is the nephew of Jfrs. Carolyn Crolley of this city. He was educated in the Camden schools and served in the army for five years, 38 months of which were overseas. The young couple srill make their home at Lancaster. « Caipden Garden Club The monthly group meetings of the Garden Club were held on Mon day afternoon, January 11. Mrs. Pomeroy was -hostess for the Boxwood Group. Mrs.' Frank Wooten, Jr., the new chairman, pre sides. This group is making a study of the propagstioh of plants, and at this meeting Miss Harman gave a demonstration of Rooting by Cut tings and Miss Fletcher Rooting by Layering. Mrs. W. C. Sahngnd reported that the work on the Hampton Park project had begun by removing stamps of trees and concrete. The Holly Tree group was en tertained by Mrs. Marvin, with Mrs. Wall as assistant hostp^ Plans, dravm by Mrs. Hauprlch, Ifor the beautlfjring of Rectory Square were submitted. 'With the approval of the city council this [work will be started very soon. The Pine True Group, meeting ith Mrs. Alex Savage, reported |that a substantial fence had been lecured for the hospital founds, id this will be beautified with limbing roses. Commander Singleton enter ed the naval service in January. 1948. Mr. and Mrs. H.'M. Williams and children of Lantana, Fla., have returned to Camden and are at present nuking their home with Mrs. R. BRIDE OF DECEMBER Bride-Elect Honored At Lovely Party Mrs. Leon Schlosburg introduced her sister-in-law. Mrs. Blihn Schloe- burg, to Camden with a beautiful tea at her home on Tuesday, Jan uary 14. from 4 to «. The guests were met at the door by Mrs. Hubert Wilson and Mra. Arnold Allen. In the receiving line were Mra. Leon Schlosburg, Mra. Elihu ^hloeburg and Mrs. Levin son, mother of the brld^lect. The living room was ntrkctitely decorated with pink and white gladiolas. Ihe dining room table covered with a Venetian lace bouquet cloth, was beautifully decorated with a brides* bouquet,of white mixed flowers in ^e center and hanging from the chanderller were dainty streamers of white satin ribbon and fern at each end of the, table. Mra. Dess Goodale and Mra. John Gar ret poured tea by candlelight. Plac ed on. the table were platters of open-faced sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches and individually decorated brides’ cakes. Decorative mints and nuts were also served. Assisting the hostess were Mra. 'tGrglnia Bennett, Miss Sara Wolfe and Miss Rosalee Block. Legion Auxiliary Notes The regular meeting of the Le gion Auxiliary for January was held Friday, January 10. Despite the cold, the efforts of the 26 members thwe were greatly appreciated. Miss Gene Williams, music teach er for the Baron DeKalb school, sang the “Star Spangled Banner,” at the opening of the meeting, be ing accompanied on the piano by Mra. Wm. Hoffman. The question has been asked of several members, “Just what do we do and—do we aid others, othw than veterans families?** The jan- swer is, “Wd do, whenevw we can, and funds are still available.** Our welfare chairman, Mra. W. T. MU- ler, to glad to do what she can. Sometimes .organisations overlap in their welfare work. A movement is on foot among the organisations to take care of that situation. We'were again entertained by Miss 'Williams with two songs, ac companied by Mrs. Hoffman. For “‘Poppy Day,** the Auxiliary decided to increase th^ order over last year. The poppies are made by the hospitalised veterans,^ en abling them to make money for tkelr own use and for their families, if need be. *The money 4he Auxil iary obtains from the sale of the poppies is used to help with their families in the county. Mrs. L H. Harden, reoentlg moved from Columbia to Camden, explaining the three-day nursing school instruction plan, in a vet eran’s unit course. Through the efforts of Mrs. Maris Tindal the constitution and by laws, were revised and a^pted for the James Leroy Belk Post, No. 17, Legion Auxiliary. After the adjournment, refresh ments were served by the six host esses for the January meeting. They were: Mrs. Alma FHetag, Mrs. Wm. O. Major, Mrs. J. W, Hammond, Mrs. C. H.
