To help you get all you m oat of your calf we want to offer the foUowtng suggestions; Get your calf on full feed using a mixture of home-raised grains and cottonseed meal. ’The following mixture is suitable for calves under a year old: Shelled com 45 pounds Shelled oats 82 " CottoBseed meal 12 ” 100 pounds Measure the grain at each feed ing and when you find what the calf will clean up. do not change until the calf shows that he wants more. Then Increase Just a little. 'The purpose Is to get the calf on feed and to beep him there by feeding the same amount of feed at regular feeding times. Peed grain twice each' day. Just what the calf will clean up by the next feeding. Build a feed trough 10 inches wide 8 inches deep and 2 feet long snd fasten it securely shout knee high against the wall. Ks^ the trough clean and see that all chickens, pigs snd other animals do not eat the feed or ke^ the calf from eating. A 6.gallon oil can which has been thoroughly cleaned with soap and hot water makes s good water pall.
