M. to 8 P. M. Monday through Saturday; Sundays and Holidays excluded.) - And from time to time hereafter as traffic conditions require in such other streets and arenues as are selected by resolution of the (Mty of Camden for the location of such sones. And in said parking meter sones the (^ty of Camden shall cause parking meters to be installed and shall cause parking meter spaces to be designated aa hereinafter pro vided, and shall fix the time limita tions for legal parking in such sones. and the hours during the day and night when the parking meter or meters must be used and when the time limitations shall be effec tive, in compliance with the pro visions of this ordinance; and shall indicate the time limitations by designating .the same on the park ing meter or meterq or by appro priate signs posted in proximity to said meter or taeters in laid lonee. (b) Parking meters installed in the parking meter lonec established aa provided in Paragraph a of Sec tion 1 hereof shall be placed upon the curb Immediately adjacent to the individual parking places here inafter described. Each parking meter shall be placed or set in ^ vehicle parking adjacent or next to „ any parking meter shall park with in the lines or markings so estab lished. It eball be unlawful and a violation of this • ordinance to park any vehicle'acrosa any such line or marking or to park Bai<f rehiele in such position that the same shall not be entirely within the area so designated by such lines or mark ings. (d) When a parking space in any parking meter sone is parallel with the adjacent curb or sidewalk, any rehiele parked In such park- tag space shall be parked with the foremost part of surii vehicle near est to such metw. (e) When a vehicle shall be parked in any space adjacent to which a parking meter is located in accordance with the prorlsions of this ordinance, the operator of said rehiele shall, upon entering the said parking space, Inunediate- ly deposit or esuse to be deposited a flre-cent or one-cent coin in such parking meter, and put such meter in operation, end faUure to deposit such coin and put the meter in operation shall c<mstltnte a breach of this ordinance and shall subject such person to the penalty pro scribed in (k) hereof. Upon the de posit of such coins and placing said meter in operation, the parking space may be lawfully occupied by such rehiele during the period of parking time which has been pre scribed for the part of the street in which said parking space is lo cated. If said rehiele shall remain patked in any such parking space beyond the parking time limit fixed for inch parking space, the parking imeter shall by its dial and pointer indicate such iUegal parking, and in that erent, such rehiele shall be considered aa parked orertime and beyond the peiW of legal parking time and the parking of a rehiele orertime or beyond the period of legal parking time in any such part of a Street where any such meter is located shall be a violation of thia ordinance and punished as hereinafter set pat ' (f) It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this ordinance for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of. or ope rated by such person to be Mrked overtime or beyond the period of legal parking time establlsbed for any parking meter sone as herein described. (g) It shall be nnlawful and a violation of thi^ provisions of this ordinance for any person to permit any vehicle to remain or be plaoed in any ^king space adtacent to any parking meter while said met^ Is displaying a signal indicatlhg that the vehicle occupying such parking space has already been parked beyond the period -of time prescribed for such parking space. (h) It shall be nnlawful and a violation of the provisions of this ordinance for any person to deface, injure, tamper with, open* or wll fully break, destroy, or impair the usefulness of any parking meter installed under tae provisions of this ordinance. (i) It shall be unlawful and s violation of the provisions of this ordinance to deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking meter, any slugs, dsvlee or metallic sub stance or any other substitute, for the coins. (J) It sbail be the duty of police officers of the City, acting in ac cordance with inatructiona issnsd by the Chief of Police, to report; (1) The number of each parking meter which indicatee that ths v^iole occupying the parktag space adjacent to such parking meter is or has been parking in violation of any of the provislona of this ordinance. . (2) The State license number of such vehicle; (8) The time during which such vehicle is parking in violation of any of the provisions of this ordi nance; ; (4) Any other facts, a knowl edge of which is necessary to a thorough understanding of the dr- cumstances attending such vloia- Uon. Bsih such police officer shall also attach to such vehicle a no tice to the owner or operator thereof that such vehicle has been parked In violation of a provision of this ordinance and Instructing such owner or operator to report at the (^ief * of Polices office of the-City of (^mden in regard to such violation. Each such owner or opmstor may, within 24 hours of the time 'when such notice was at tached to such vehicle,-^ pay to the Chief of Police, as a penalty for and in full satisfaction of such vio lation. the sum of One ($1.00) Dollar. The failure of such owner or operator to make such payment within said 24 hours, shall render such owner or operator subject to the penalties hereinafter provided for violation of the provisions of this ordinance. (k) Any person who shall vio late any of the provisions of this ordinance and any peraon who aids, abets or assists therein, shall, upon conviction be subject to a fine of any amo^t not exceeding One Hun dred (liOO.OO) Dollars for each of fense or violation, or be imprisoned for a term not exceeding SO days, in the City Jail or in any place provided by the municipality for the detention of prisoners. (l) The speciflc^d coin or coins required to be deposited in parking meters as provide^ herein are here by levied and asselsed as fees to provide for the proper regulation and control of traffic upon the pub lic streets, and also the cost of supervision and regulaUng the parking of vehicles in the parking meter sones ,created hereby, and to cover tbe cost of purchastag, ac quiring. , installation, operation, maintenfnee, supervision, regula tion and control of the parking meters described herein. (m) This ordinance shall be deemed to be in addition and sup plementary to, and not in conflict with nor a repeal of prior or exiat- tag ordinances of this City, but shall be an additional provision for the regnlatlon of traffic and park ing in those sones provided for herein.
