Mr. Pearce declared that “This is a fight to protect the homes of all of us." Mr. Pearce pointed out that <87 per sons died from tuberculosis in South Carolina last year, despite great prog ress which has been made in fighting the disease, and that approximately 7,000 active cases are believed to exist in the state.. “No home will be safe from tubercu losis until all of these cases are dis covered and arrested," the state chair man said. “The Job of finding tuber culosis, especially when ft Is In its early and easily curable stages, is a very difficult and expensive one. bat it can be accomplish^.
