The regular monthly meeting of
the Camden Hospital Alumnae was
held at the home of Mrs. J. II. Mc-I
Leod, Jr., Tuesday evening ut 7:30,
with Mrs. Uuby Bartleld, president,
presiding. A^fter the business delightful
refreshments were served by
the hostesses, Mrs. J. H. McLeod, Jr.,
and Miss Elizabeth Prescott.
Bridge Luncheon
Mrs. Wilson Beebo and Mrs. Paul
Axtell were joint hostesses at a
bridge luncheon on Tuesday morning
at the home of the former on Chestnut
street. After cards a delicious
luncheon was served. High score
prize was won by Mrs. A. It. Barrows;
.floating prize by Mrs. Herbert Brady
and consolation by Mrs. Jack Nettics.
The invited guests were Mrs. Robert
Abies, Mrs. G. F. BoHt, Mrs. Herbert
Brady, Mrs. Alton Brown, Mrs.
A R. Burrows, Mrs. John Dunbar, Jr.,
Mrs. W. B. Grubbs, Mrs. John Hoover,
Mrs. J. H. McDanlel. Mrs. Jack
Nettles, Mrs. Frank Poe III, and Mrs.

Laurens Court Monday, February 8,

give a paper dealing with the growing

entertained the bridge club of which
she la a member Wednesday mornlug
at her home on Chesnut street.

Miss Virginia Greene and Mrs. Samuel
Russell, Mrs. R. 11. Clarkson, Mra.
J. H. Guthrie and Mrs. A. C. McKain.
At noon a delicious luncheon was
served.

Hostess to Bridge Club
Mrs. Robert Uruce was hotess to
her bridge club last Wednesday afternoon
at her home on Fair street.
Substitutes for the afternoon were
Mrs. N. R. Goodale. and Mrs. Cliff
Richards, who is visiting her sister,
JVIrs. Joe Brunson, High score, prizes
were won by Mrs. Goodale and Mrs.
Richards. After a round of games
the hostess served a sweet course.

have taken a house for the winter.

from a visit to her sister in Washington,

at luncheon Sunday in honor
of their house guest, Mrs. Charles

Mrs. James Clarkson, of York,
moved to Camden Tuesday and is
occupying the Burnet residence on
Fair street.
Miss Marty Harley has returned to
her home in Barnwell after a visit to
her sister, Mrs. John Dunbar, Jr., and
Mr. Dunbar.
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Bassett will
come down from Summit, New Jersey,
to open their winter home about
the tenth of February.
Mr.and Mrs. Russell Engs, coming
from Darien, Connecticut, are in the
Mrs. Brunson Hostess
Mrs. Joe Brunson entertained the
club of which she is a member Wednesday
afternoon at her home on
north Mill street. The house was
lovely with spring flowers. Mrs. Cliff
I Richards who is the house guest of
her sister, played with the club memi
bers. Winning high score prizes were
Mrs. DeLoache Sheorn and Mrs. Cliff
Richards. The hostess, assisted by
her mother, Mrs . C. B. Salmond,
served pie a la mode.

last time he spoke with Mrs. Christopher

years ago in Paris.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Davis, of 1809
Pair street are announcing the birth
of a daughter on January 26. She
has been named Mary Scott. Mrs.
Davis was formerly Miss Mary Jane
White, of Johnson City, Tenn.
Captalu and Mrs. Robert Rhame,
of Fort Monmouth, N. J., announce
the birth of a daughter February 1.
The young lady has been named Judith
Sill Rhame. Mrs. Rhame was
the former Wilma Sill, of Camden.
Mrs. H. H. Hyman, who has made
her homo here for the past two years,
leaves today for Charleston where
she will Join her husband. Mr. Hyman
is connected with the finance
office of the War Department. Mrs.
Hyman has been very active in civic
'affairs and a most faithful worker in J
the Baptist church here.

city and Miss Caroline Nelson, daughter

Camden, S. C., wore honored yesterday
afternoon at a bridge party at the
Myers Park club by Mrs. W. O. Hoilingsworth
and Mrs. Luther Knowles.

The girls will leave on Saturday
for Daytoua Beach, Fla., where they
will begin training in "W A AGs. The
hostesses presented Miss Gwln and
Miss Nelson with honor gifts.
The party was held in the lounge
rooms of the club Which were arranged
with bowls of mixed flowers.
A1 dessert court was served with accessories.
During the afternoon
bridge was plnyed and prizes wero
awarded the winners.

wore turf tan and brown accessories,

fox collar.
Mra. Faulkenberry is tho youngest
daughter of Mra. J. T. Floyd and tho
late Mr. Floyd of Gallv&nta Ferry.
She was graduated from Wlnthrop
college and yrior to her marriage waa
a member of tho Ay nor high achool
faculty.
Sergeant Faulketiberry is the eldest
Hon of Mra. L. J. FaUlkenberry und
the late Mr. Fai^lkeuberry of Korahaw.
IIo received hla education
from Kershaw high achool and Cleniaon
college. Ho entered the army in
April of last year and is now with the
Field Artillery Division of Fort Sill,
Oklahoma.
The young couple will make their
homo in I.awton, Oklahoma.
