of Mrs. VonTresckow's sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Kershaw Shannon, who recently celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary
and sharing honors with them
were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kennedy.
Jr, whose 31 wedding anniversary was
on that day. Major and Mrs. VonTresckow's
33 anniversary was also on
the following day.
The house and porch were beautifully
decorated with garden flowers.
On the porch Mr. and Mrs. John deLoach

was a bridesmaid at Mr. and Mrs.

The table in the dining room had
a lovely centerpiece of pale pink asters

Last Friday evening Mr. and Mrs
Nettles Lindsay entertained with a
small dinner party in honor,, of Commander
Heath and Saturday afternoon
a group of his friends were invited
to a farewell party given by
Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Whitaker, Jr., at
"their lovely new home on Fair Street.
While in Camden Commander Heath
has taken an active part in the civic
and philanthropic organizations here,
and he has a wide circle of friends
who hope that he will soon return
to Camden to make his home.
Fidelia Class Met
The Ftdelts class of the Camden
Baptist church held its regular business
meeting on last Monday night
at the former parsonage. Large bowls
of zinnias added to the attractiveness
of the room. The hostess furnished
electric fans to make all members
more comfortable.
The president. Mrs. C. H. Stogner,
gave the devotional and also naa
[charge of the meeting. After business
session, the hostesses, Mrs. J. C. Turbeville,
Mrs. Edward Shaylor, Mist
Ethel Sparrow, Mrs. Carl Stokes, in

been given out and only awaits return
to be packed and shipped, the chairman
of volunteer "Work and her assistants
decided on account of Intense

residence on Laurens Court near the

check off and keep records.

interest here was that of Miss Harriet
Kva Baker of Northport, Long
Island and Boy Crhfton Crunlpler of
Clinton. N. C.. and Northport .Long
Island, which was performed by the
Rev. J. T. Littlejohn at the Baptist
parsonage In Blshopvllle at ten o clock
this morning.' The ring ceremony
was used. There were no attendants.
The bride was becomingly attired
in an advanced fall- dress of
Alice Blue with hat to match, with
accessories of white. Her shoulder
corsage was of rose pink asters, baby
breath and fern tied with a silver
ribbon.
Mrs. Crumpler is the second daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Frank
Baker. She was graduated from Charlotte
Thompson High school and the
Lebanon school of nursing of New
York City and Is now a nurse In the
Veteran's Hospital at Northport, L. I.
Mr. Crumpler Is a son of Mr.
Braska Crumpler and the late Mrs.
Crumpler of Clinton, N. C. He was
graduated front Saleinburg * Hlg^t
School in N. C. and now holds a position
at the Veteran's Hospital In
Long Island.
Attending the marriage was the
maternal grandmother, mother, four
sisters, one brother, an aunt, and a
niece of the bride and the family of
Bev. Littlejohn.
Immediately after the ceremony the
couple left for a short wedding trip,
to Aiken and Augusta. They will
spend next week with relatives In'
North and South Carolina, returning
to Northport, about August 5, where
they will make their home.

John D. Nock, of Cheraw, president
of the South Carolina Fish and Came
association, was the guest speaker
at the Rotary Club on Thursday.' with
W. W. Bates In charge of the program.
Mr. Nock told of the activities of
the association, and the possibilities
as to the future conservation and
restoration of game In South Carolina.
The Association has been most
active In having legislation passed
for the protection of game, and the
aWrtlon or appointment of satisfactory
game wardens, who will see that laws
are enforced thoroughly and without
partiality.

Fish and Came chapter for Kershaw
county'
