T. Holley, president. School Improvement Association The Pine Grove school improvement association held its last monthly meeting Tuesday, May 14, in the school auditorium at 7:30 in the afternoon. They - served, a delightful supper consisting of fried chicken, grits, English peas, cream potatoes, rolls, applie pie and tea. After supper they played several games and all voted the afternoon one of the most enjoyable.?Contributed. Lugoff Clubs Holds Meeting The Lugoff Home Demonstration Club held its regular meeting Thursday afternoon at the apartment of Miss Margaret B. Fewell, home demonstration agent, on Lyttleton street in Camden. The usual program was followed, after which the hostess, assisted by Mrsv John G. Richards, Jr., and Mrs. Douglas McArn, served refreshments. Miss Alice iMoCarter was complimented with a shower of lovely gifts presented by the club members. Miss McCarter is to be married in June to John Lawson Pursleyr of Filbert, S. C. Cassatt Club Meets The Cassatt Home Demonstration club held their regular monthly meetlng Oh Mgy~2T, the Pome of Mth. Walter Woolen with Mrs. Henry Watkins as joint hostess. Devotional was by Mrs. W. J. Parker. The month's song, "Grandfather's Clock" was sung _ by the club. The minutes of the pre- ; vlous meeting were read by the secretary and approved by the clu!b. The roll was called with ten members present and one visitor. * The meeting was then turned over to Miss Fewell, who gave out hook lists for reading certificates and bulletins on home gardening. After enjoying several games _ record cards were filled out and the meeting closed to meet with Miss Fewell in June. The hostesses served delicious refreshments. Pulpwood Jottings (By Dogulas Pew) From time to time the question 1? askpd. "Can I cut my land clean and sell the timber for pulpwood if I am planning to farm or pasture the land ?" The answer is "No." We cannot take any wood from land that is being clear cut. If pulpwood is to he accepted, we insist that the timfber he cut according to our cutting regulations, which in the most lenient form, calls for four ten Inch seed trees per acre and not cutting trees smaller than eight ( inches at the butt. ^ This Is. in no manner of means, aaying that the landowner cannot do as he pleases with his land, but we i do say that if that wood is to be sold for pulpwood, the cutting rules must he followed. After the pulpwood operation is finished the landowner can utilize his land as he sees fit. 1 The attention of wood producers is called to the old cutting rule card ( with a request thsit it he read and the rules practiced.
