Y., were delighted to see her in Camden this ueek where she is a guest at Hobkirk Inn It is Miss "Jim's" first visit to Camden in over twenty years and she was high in her praise in the improvements made in Camden. Miss Kldredge and her brother the late Captain F. W. Eldredge, were among the first tourists to spend their win-, ters here. She is accompanied by her friend, Mrs. John H. Smith, who will be remembered here as Miss Fdna Fowler, of Spencer, Ind. Club Was Entertained Mrs. W. STTtainsford delighted the Camden Garden Club with an Informal tea given at her home on Mill street Saturday afternoon. Cook served coffee and tea trom a prettily decorated table in the .lining room. Name Left Off Through error the name of Mrs. W. L, Wright was left off the list of prize winners at the Camden Flower Show Ijeld March 9. Mrs. Wright's shadow box was awarded first prize and received much praise from the many attending the show. The committee regrets that her name failed to appear with the list published. Mrs. Hogue Was Hostess - Mrs. Wylie Hogue'a pretty party on Friday afternoon was given at her home for twenty guests. The Saint I'atrick's colors, green and white, wore carried out in ?the flowers used about the receiving rooms and the bridge tallies were shamrocks. Mrs. M M. Reasonover won the top score prize and Mrs. L. P. Tobin the one for low score. Consolation and float-1 ing prizes went to Mrs. F. D. Qoodalc and Mrs. Hubert Wilson. Honor Young Daughter Botty Pearce, daughter of Mr. and jyirs. Irving Pparce,'was honored with a lovely party Friday afternoon, celebrating her fifth birthday. Education Contest at Clemson College | Clemson, Mar. 18.?Plans for the fifth annual state-wide Industrial Education Contest to be held at Clemson College- April 15 and 16 are rapidlytaking form according to announcements made today by Professor H. S. Tate, head of the department of industrial education. Over fifty high- schools haVe signified their intentions to send teams in; woodworking, drawing and textiles to the contest. Teams will compete against each other in the making of woodworking projects, In the Judgln*1 of woorworking projects, in mechanical drawing skills, and in the Judging of mechanical drawings that have been made by students at Clemson. : Over 150 boys are expected to participate in the different events. Extension Bulletin Household Insects Clemson, Mar. 19.?Bulletin 101, on Household Insects, is a new publication Just Issued by the extension service and now ready for distribution. This bulletin, by W. O. Nettles, extension entomologist, is Part 2 of a series on Insect Posts of South Carolina, and may be had from county agents or from the Publication Department at Clemson. "Household insects and methods of suppression are subjects of universal Interest and importance;" explains Mr. Nettles, adding that "every one of the two million people Inhabiting Sonth Carolina has been annoyed at some time by at least several of these Insects. Moreover, few, If any, have escaped all of the diseases which Insects are capable of transmitting. Losses caused by insects damaging fabrics, food, and wood also amount to considerable sums annually." Descriptions of the appearancd. life history and habits and nature of damage are given in Bulletin 101 for most of the household Insect pests which are here grouped as food-visiting Insects, food-destroying inserts, fabric-destroying insects, wood-lnfesttng Insects, and miscellaneous Insects and nmt relatives.
