"Needs for a year are anticipated, and the contribution of the housewife to the farm income ia estimated on a busis of past experience and any increase in investment, such aa a larger flock of chickens or cultivation of marketable vegetables. "Kershaw county farm women are interested in this business like way of running their homes," the supervisor said. "They enjoy keeping accounts of their expenses." "A manual for keeping records has been prepared and furnished to each Rural Rehabilitation wife. The children help keep these records. Sometimes one child will have as his duty the keeping of records on chickens and another the records on the vegetables and milk used. One farm wife who was Influenced to keep records for the first time said she had never realized before how much money she was saving for the family by her efforts to carry out a-live at home plan. Her contribution took oq a new meaning for her when she could measure it iri dollars and cents."
