About five o'clock Sunday morning the bear or wolf derided to come bark and get the other ham and while getting the other ham he .stepped a little too far bark and the trap caught his left ham. Clifford was alarmed and grabbed his gun before day light. He went out to kill the bear. While trying to get loose from the trap it seem.-* he had forgot his pig's ham, so Clifford opened fire three times and his bear hollowed every shot except the last one and he did not hollow any more. So when day light came Sunday morning Clifford went out to see what became of his bear and found a big hull dog instead of his bear, .-hot to death and still in his trap.
