Ancient Wills"Reveal Some Human Traits One of the many projects of the Civil Works Administration is the copying of old wills that are on record in the Probate Judge's office in I this county. The wills, many almost one hundred years old and very \ fragile are being copied verbatim, with the quaint writing an<t wording of that time. Three copies are being made of these originals, one to be left on file in the Probate .fudge's office, one to be #ent to the library j at the University of South Carolina . and one to be on file at the Camden Public Library, thus in case of fire a copy will Ixi preserved. Kershaw county is fortunate in having her records intact, as many have been destroyed in other counties from fires and when Sherman destroyed much state property during his march through South Carolina. Only Charleston county has an older record than this, it being the oldest settlement in this state. Following are throe of these ol I wills showing three distinct types of men, making and filing their bequests | many years ago. In two the names have been deleted as there are rep-' resentatives living here still, who might object to these names Ix-ing used: Sour On The World t'nmden in tin- Stat.- of South f'.irolliiit.
