J ' 11 4-H Boys' Camp I July 28,29 and 30 . > To m 11 4-11 club boys in Kershaw bounty: The annual 4-H boys' camp is to bt> held July 28, 29 and 80 at the club camp at l^ake iShamokin (old Childers mill) seven miles from Camden just off the road to Kerdhaw. Aryive at camp about 10 a. m. Thura-v day, July 28th. Kach boy will please bring launch for dinner the first day. (Camp meals will be served after that. It is important that we know ahead of time How many boys will attend, so please send in your notice at once. We hope that every club boy in the county may attend. The program as outlined will be interesting, entertaining, instructive, recreational and profitable, in all probability you will learn valuable things you didn't know. For instance there will be devotional exercises, lectures on public speaking, personal hygiene and sanitation, first aid, life saving, recreation instruction, wrestling, races, livestock judging,-swimming and swimming lessonsLift guards have been engaged for the swimming. ^ In order that tihe camp will cost each boy as little as. possible each one is asked to bring as many of the following edibles as possible: 1 1-2 lb. bacon or ham; 1 lb. grits; ^ .1 lb, rice; 1 do/., eggs; 1-2 lb. butter; 1 lb. sugar; 1 doz. Irish 'potatoes; 1 cabbage; 2 loaves of bread or some flour or corn meal; 1 pint syrup or jelly; 1 can tomatoes or fresh; 1 can or 1 lh. beans or peas; 1 lb. dried apples or |>enches; cake; those w'ho can do so bring fresh fruit, melons, etc., or anything else you wish to bring. Any substitutions in the above list will be entirely satisfactory. Kach boy i.r to bring 50c which is to be paid when you register upon arrival at camp. This fee is to 'help pay the many expenses of operating the camp. Kach boy should also bring the following articles: blanket or quilt, two sheets, rbwoj towels, comb and brush, soap, tooth brush and paste, fork, spoon, cup, plate (preferably a tin ?^pjAte), and any baseball equipment and musical instruments. Kvery 4-II club boy in Kershaw .county is cordially invited to attend. It iB your camp, boys, so let's each of us take a big interest, in it and make it mean something really worth while to our club work nnd to you boys individually. You hoys have worked hard this year and this camp is to he a part of your reward and I want you to enjoy it and profit from It to the fullest possible extent. Every 4-H club boy in the county should attend. Mothers and fathers of club boys are requested to lend full support to this^ important part of the boy's education and development. Remember that the government sponsors 4-H club work and the congress appropriates for- training through this work, (lamp will break Saturday afternoon, July 20th. Three hundred of them had been owing him that sum for groceries a long while. He marked his books "paid in full" and retired from business. "I don't want anybody to think I'm a rich man," said IJttlejohn. "I'm in bad circumstances financially just like everybody else. These three hundred people owe me $4,000 for merchandise I sold them out of my store. I feel like they are not able to nav it and I don't want to he worried trying to collect it.
