One ot the jnost beautiful and improve weddings ever solemnised in Crewent City took place in the Howe Iteinorial Methodist church laat Suudiy afternoon, November 24, at 2:20 o'cltK-h, when Miss Mary Etta Hudof Mr. and Mrs. Johr. Pouglae Hudaon, became the bride ct Br. Ben Phillip Hornaby. The church was decorated with a profusion of feme, vines and cut flowers, the choir rail being banked high with potted plants, making a solid background of green, which igainst the rich green draperies and itained glass of the ^chancel, made & most picturesque setting for the^arch In front. The wedding arch was a mass of pluitaosua fern topped with jessamine ,1n bloom The altar rail ws? intertwined with jessamine while yellow, and White chrysanthemum* in basket# completed th^ picture. Bunches of yellow^and'white chrysanthemums with tulle, streamers marked the .pews reserved for the wedding party. At the appointed hour Mrs. Katharine Letts, at the organ, and Mr. A. K. Lounda, violinist, began the musical program with "Angel's Serenade" by Braga, followed J>y the ever popular "Indian Love Call" by Friml. As the musicians' were completely hidden by the bank of green, the music gave an unusual and pleasing effect. Mrs. H Lopresto, lyric soprano of this city, then sang Sanderson's "Until." Mrs. Lopresto was in particularly good voice and her pure and sympathetic tones added new charm to the song, x Rev. E. L. Hollady, pastor of Howe Memorial church, who performed the ceremony, entered from the class room at the side and took his position behind the wedding arch. Lastly the bride lovely in her wedding gown of blue, came slowly down the aisle, on the arm of her father. Soft music from the organ was heard during the impressive ring ceremony, and at the close, the joy! ous' strains of Mendelssohn's wedding maryh heralded to all that anothei* happy cOufrie had started life's journey together. The bride was most charmingly gowned in Medeleine blue transpar-1 ent velvet with hat and accessories 4 to match, and carried ^an exquisite shower bouquet of pink radiance rosebuds. Yellow and white are the Epworth League colors, and as both the bride and groom art* active member* of the League, a color scheme of yellow and white wan carried out by the clever ih-corators as a token of appreciation. Hall. Mr, Hornsby is a young man of sterling worth, u\ steward in Howe Memorial church, active in the work of the church and popular with thu townspeople on account of his unfailing friendliness and courtesy. He is associated in business with the hounds Drug Company. After a brief honeymoon spent in the southern part of Jhe state, the young couple will return to make | their home in Crescent City, where a host of friends will wish them joy and happiness in their new life.?? Henry Uroadus Bishop, HO, native of Piedmont, C.? died of suffocation in a Ore that destroyed the J. K. Jones grocery store here today. Kire was believed by Hopewell tire department officials to have started from a lighted cigarette atump. Officials estimated the damage at $7,000, eovered by insurance. Bishop lived alone on the second floor of the building. His lifeless body was rescued from the building, untouched by the blaze. Death was caused by suffocation, the coroner said. He is survived by his widow. The body was sent to Piedmont for burial.
