Eleventh Annual S*#nioniof Confer* ence Clcww at Abbeville Abbeville, Nov. 1.? The eleventh annual session of the Upper South Carolina Conference closed this after noon with the memorial service for the pastors an^ their wives who have died during the past year and the reading of the appointments for en* saing year*. During the service this afternoon Dr. B. S. Jones, of Colum bia, presented Hi shop Denny a gold purse of $150 in recognition and ap preeiation of his loyal service during the past four years. Bishop Denny in accepting the gift spoke feelingly of his association with the Upper South (Carolina Conference and wished for it continued prosperity anil blessing*. The feature of the morning service was a sermqn by Bishop Denny, who presented a forceful message, taking as his text the first clause, from the first verse of the 5&th chapter of Isaiah, "Hear and' Your Soul Shail Live." Mr. Allen Rogers, of Spar tanburg, again sang for the confer ence. The confeYenoe quartet also sang at the morning services. Following the morning service the ordination of deacons and elders was. held. The following wore ordained n< deacons: M. VV. hover, G. II. Pierce, N. K. Polk, II. L. Kingman, T. C. Cannon, H. E.
