Home Demonstration New* Great interest is being shown in the Exterior Home Beautification con test that is being held as a part of the Home Demonstration work in South Carolina. In Kershaw county there are eight contestants, living in various parts of the county. A num ber of valuable prizes are being of fered in the state, and in this county the Camden Floral Company is gen erously offering a choice collection of evergreens and shvubbiry to the county winner. The yards of all contestants hav?* been scored, and suggestions for im provements have been made by the home demonstration agent. Ail awards will be made in consideration of improvements made, In many places trees, hedges, and shrubbery have bet n planted during the winter months, and at this season valuable work is. being done in the vegetable gardens, and in planting flowering annuals. Although these flowers re quire constant attention, nothing '?gives more pleasure than a few beds of zinnias. marigolds, chrysanthe mums, phlox" and nasturtiums, and with these one may always have fresh flowers for the vases in the house. The-1 Farm and Home Demonstra tion agents of this county are co operating with the Lancaster agents in shipping a carload of poultry this week. The car will be loaded at Camden on Wednesday, at Kershaw .on Thursday morning, :?t Heath Springs on Thursday afternoon, and :?t Lancaster. Friday.
