None of us fully appreciate the great convenience of Good Retail Stores, such as we have listed in Camden. That the local retail store owner whether he owns the property or rents contributes much in taxes to make this a better city in which to live. The money derived from taxes goes to pay the expense of local, county, state and federal government expenses. He pays liberally for the expense of police and lire protection of which all of us enjoy the bene fits. Thousands of dollars are spent by the retail merchants in clerk hire and the clerks are young men and women from the families of Camden. Think of these things before you spend your money with out-of-town stores. And seriously think of these things before you give an order for household goods, wearing apparel or any article of merchandise that can be bought in Camden; think seriously before you give an or der to an out-of-town concern or aii agent. The out-of-town Manufacturer-Retailer at the best can save you but a few cents on your purchase, and in many instances you can buy even at a lower price, and with better satisfaction, from local retailers. The agent of the out-of-town manufacturer re tailers are exerting a most malicious influence in every home community. Smug indiff erence is re sponsible for much that is wrong with our city. Be consistent, do not boost your home city one day and the next spend your money to help up build another community.
