Beginning with noxt session every county in South Carolina will be en titled to a scholarship in the Two year Agricultural Course. Seven ap point menta will also be made from the State at large. These scholarships are open to young men eighteen years of age or over, who have spent not less than three yours on the farm. Nutrance is based upon the equivalent of ten units and the scholarship examina tions will cover the work completed by the average rural school. Kach scholarship is worth $100.00 and free tuition of $40.00 additional for two .sessions, Beginning at 0 A. M. on Friday, July 18, 1028, competitive oxamina tions for tlu? award of these scholar ships will be held by tho County Sup erintendent of Education. This course offers an opportunity t<? young men who for any reason find it impossible to spend four years in college. The aim of this new course is to teach better farming methods as well as the business of farming. .Sub jects such as sociology, farm man agement, and Fnglish are required in addititon to the Vocational subjects like soil fertility, farm crops, i dairy ing, live stock farming, cotton grad ing, farm machinery, injurious dis eases, orchard and truck products, etc. The work is arranged to permit a transfer to the freshman class at the end of the first year for the stu dents with sufficient preparation. Examinations for the award of four year scholarships and for credit to ward entrance into the freshman class will also be held on the same day and at the same timo.
