The club markets pf South Caro lina have attracted wide attention as is evidenced by the faet that letters of inquiry relative to their organi zation have come to the Home Dem onstration Department from inter ested parties in 28 states. Twenty-eight club markets have been established in twenty-four coun ties twenty of which are in operation* at the present time. Iw^piost coun ties the sales are larger than during i the fruit season. In the smaller towns the markets are in most cases discontinued during the ? winter months. The total sales of the club markets during eleven months of 1922 are $72,820,23. Individuals marketing products through this channel number 840. The club markets are being looked upon everywhere as permanent in stitutions, having been of untold as sistance in furnishing financial aid during these days of agricultural re construction. A. of North America, today added his protest to the wave that has in undated Will Hays, heard of the mo tion picture industry, since he an nounced the lifting of the ban on films of Roscoe C. (Fatty) Arbuckle, screen comedian. His telegram to Mr. Hays follows: "As a member of the committee of twenty and representing as I do, thg Y. M. C. A. of North America, having in their memberships hundreds of thousands of growing boys now at the age of hero worship (not to men tion hundreds of thousands of young men) I deplore the action of rein stating Roscoe Arbuckle. "He should be encburaged in ev ery way possible to roturn to a use ful life, but not by the path of md tion pictures to be viewed by the youth of the land, to whom the sight would recall memories of widely re ported orgies of less than two years ago."
