STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL CONDITION of the Water mid Light Department, of March 81, 1022, 1* shown on Schedule 8. The records in both these offices have been well kept and few errors were found to exist. The system of lM>ok keeping can- be greatly improved < l? the City Clerk and Treasurer's office by adopting the use of a cash Jour ual of sufficient size to carry all general accounts. This will be Inexpensive and will save a great deal of work in posting to the ledger. Such a book would be preferable for the Water & Light Department also. CITY OF CAMDEN. All items of receipts and disbursements have been verified in detail and found generally correct. All disbursements are sup ported by 'proper vouchers which have been approved by City Council. CASH ON HAND AND IN BANKS was verified by actual count and by pass books and found to be $14.04 In excess of that called for by the books which is shown as follows. Interest l*aid on Water and Light Bonds is Included In ordinary expenses for both periods. This item amounted to $10,300.00 iu the first period and $4,700.00 in the last period. Had this been paid by the Water ami Light. Depart ment to which it Is a proper charge, the summary would have shown in come in excess of expenses of $1,051.00 on April 30tli, 1021, and $12,304.00 on March 20th. 1022, the difference for, the two years amounting to a sum sufficient to liquidate the current liabilities of the City which is $15,000.
