AN ORDINANCE To Close Up and Prevent the_JSstab iishment or Maintainanre within the City. of Caniden of Any House , of III fame, Prostitution or Assigna tion, and to Prevent and Suppress Prostution within the Limits of Said City. Section 1.? It shall lie. unlawful for any person ?>r i*-rsons to man tain, keep, live sit or frequent disorderly house or bawdy house within the City \>f Camden. Section 2. ? It shull bo unlawful for any person or person* to rent or to let, whether himself or by agent or whether he be principal or agent, any house within thd city of Camden, wlnni he has reason to believe that the same is being rented or let for the purpose of mantainlng therein a disorderly house or bawdy .house, or to permit any property that he may own or have in charge *is agent to be used for the purpose of mantainlng a disorderly house or bawdy house.1* When any person owning or any agent for any person owning any house <wlt bin the limits of the C^ty of Camden shall brtl served with a written nothv signed) by the Chief of Police, ipolice officer,' Meml>er of Council or any officer of the city, that the said house is being used for (im pose of maintaining there in a disorderly htnise, it shall the duty of such person to immediately investigate the &ame, and if the same is being used for such pnrpose to cause the tenants to vacate the same within fift een days after such notice, and if it be frequently established that such was at said time being used for said purpose and that the owner or agent as aforesaid has failed or refused to comply with the terms of this Ordi nance dlnanee. he shall be deemed' to have violated this Ordinance and shall be subject to the penalties hereinafter prescribed. Section .'{.?A bawdy house or dis orderly house shall be constructed to mean a house to which persons resort for the purpose of immoral sexual rela tions or prostitution, whether the same be a house in which prostitutes or per sons of evil fame live or a house of assignation. Section 4. ? It shall be unlawful for any person ownjng or operating a hotel, rooming hotme. lodging house, boarding house, dwelling or other house within the limits of the City of Camden to penult any room or ]>or tion thereof to be used for the pur pose of prostitution or immoral sexual relntions. If It shall t?e established that prostitution or immoral sexual relations have neon practieon in socm hotel, rooming house, lodging house, boarding house, dwelling or . other house, and that the owner or keeper thereof has not used reasonable pre caution to prevent the same the said owner or keeper thereof shall be deem ed to have violated (his Ordinance and shall l?e *ut>Ject to the penalties here-, inafter prescribed.
