.cause we don't live high. Our tastes
I ,

j. we 'wait on our selves and dress in a

make ends meet with sitprlsliigly small
incomes.
None of tii" store clerks earn more
than seven! v five dollars a month ; yet
v V
they pay rent, elotihe and feed their

V m-v likely there is not one among

:i little envious of the wealthy In. cities
who Hvo In great houses, surrounded
by servants, and possess luxuries we
cannot afford. We are not philoso

living, and necessity tenches lis thrift.
Vet we are' happy, the wealthiest
cannot buy better books than we can
afford, nor can they win more lovable
friends. We have our work to give
us content and self-respect, our school
and town affairs to train us in team
work. our churches and small charities
t" teach us the art of unselfishness.
'bice in a while business or pleas

and genuineness and hearty companion
