Raker wax rushed to tho hoapital but wan beyond human aid and aoon ex pired. IIo fcnld Officer Carrigan on tho way to the hoapltal that ho wanted to tell him all about the trouble, but he -toon lapsed into uaeonabiouaneaa. When arrested William M. Raker had both barrels of the gun loaded and also had his pi*tol loaded. Uiu brother wr? also placed under arrest, and he too, was deprived of his gun and a pistol. It is claimed that the little girl later gave* the officers a pistol she had taken off the person of the dead man. "-/Roth, Rakers and' Mjo girl are now in the county jail, but it is understood that an effort will soon ho made to secure, hail f<?r all of them. All of tho parties to* this tragedy are farm era. living with in a few tulles of St. Charles, and they are well -known in both, this rind Loo ?*ounty. In one corner was. a Post Office, and during the evening many val entines were mailed and delivered there. Ice cream was ,sold, which completed the pleasure of the evening, 'cause al wuys folks waut something to eat. The proceeds went towards the future pleas ure of the village.
