There was an air of cany informality most suit able to the season and the young peo ple gave every evidence of a thorough enjoyment of the affair. Mr. II, I j, Sehlosburg, abd son, Leon, left Tuesday for Charleston, where they sailed Wednesday on the steam er Lenai>e for New York. While away Mr. Sehlosburg will purchase an im mense stock for his stores at. Cam den and Kershaw. He will lie away for several weeks and, will lie joined later by Mrs. Sclilosburg. The Young People Dance. Mr. and Mrs. Bratton deLoach were yery pleasantly surprised on Monday night when they returned from Big Springs and found their home ablaze with light and a merry crowd of girls and boys tripping the light fantastic. Their genial young son, Teddy, had in vited the clan to come in and make merry and bad also proved himself a most desirable host in having a feast prepared for them in the way of ice' cream and cake. The young folks will long remember it as one of the hap piest of the summer dances. w o ' MEXICAN MISSIONARY BUSY Rev. Joseph Tucker, who was com pelled to return from Muxatlau, Mexi co, a few weeks ago because of the in vasion of that city by the Constitu tionalists. found work almost imme diately on bis arrival in the United States at Nogales, Ariz., where he is preaehing to the Mexican refugees. He writes from Nogales "I find the church in good shape. The town is full of well-to-do Mexican refugees, and it ought to be iH>ssible to reach them at least with gosjiel literature while they tre on this side the line waiting for peace...' ? Miss Nan Neil being the winner of the consolation. The verpndn of Dr. and' Mrs. Kirven .'s home was made most attractive on this occasion by the use of many rugs and pot -plants.
