A pretty- affair for Miss Wallace be fore her wedding, was a shower Mon day afternoon given by the Misuse Tay lor at their home on North Inroad St. A punch bowl <tn the piazza, presided over by Miss Ethel Smith, refreshed the guests as they arrived. The rooms simply but beautifully decorated in cut flowers and ferns. Tables were ar ranged with paper i\nd pencils for a guessing contest, in which the pr^ze, a lovely pair of silk hose, was won by Miss Nan Trantham. The place cards were very appropriately hand- painted brides. A color scheme of green and white, -suggesting the colors to be used at the wedding, was cleverly carried out in the dainty refreshments, and every other detail The bride was showered with dainty gifts from her friends present. The packages, nil done up in white with green ribbons, were brought in Tinny Team, in a suit case, told -with emblems of good luck. The affair was one of beauty and. forged another link in the chain ?>f happy memories that bind together Miss Wallace's circle of girl friends. For Miss Wallace. On Tuesday afternoon Miss Wallace was again honorejl. Miss Jean Lind say was hostess. In flower-decked rooms, where pink andw hlte oleander made a pleasing decoration. Mr. Harper Starnes of the Mill Vil lage, has a cat that does not, as is the nsual custom with cats, confine itself to a meat and milk diet, but is a veg etarian as well. Mr. Starnes had been noticing for some time that his beans in the garden were disappearing and upon investigation caught the cat leis urely making a meal of his beans. Notwithstanding, he says he is loath to part with the cat, because it is an extra good monser. ? T^?ncaster News. J. B. Maxwell brought to the Dally office Friday afternoon two eggs laid by the same hen, one of them unusu ally large and the other unusually small. The egg laid on Thursday was two and three-fourths inches in length and six inches in diameter. The egg laid Friday measured an inch and one-eighth in length and three inches in diameter. Averaged up, they would make two eggs of ordinary size. ? Pee Dee Daily. Seeing a queer "freak of nature,'' or something of that kind is almost an ev ery day performance in Anderson, but a really queer egg was brought to the city yesterday. by A. G. The egg seemed Just like any other egg, until a close examination was made, and it was then discovered that the face of a clock could be clearly discerned on one side.
