Pink was endowed with a\most human sa gacity and had won more first pfizes than any other sheep dog in trials in various parts of the country! Pink was & smooth-haired collie, cleanly built after the greyhound style.' That was how she got her speed. She was ae gentle with a chicken or a pig as #Ith a sheep. She never distressed or irritated sheep, but if one were etubborn she would stand facing it and at the whistle walk quietly up and seize it by the nose, and the sheep had to go where she wanted;*: Fuel of the Future. In the opinion of many authorities, when the existing supplies of fuel be come.-limited men must rely upon al cohol produced from vegetation of seme sort which may be produced in any required quantity, jJt ifl thought that thie alcohol will bo manufactured either from potato starch or sawdust, but it has been suggested that when the question becomes urgent some highly specialized plant will . have been brought into existence for the sole purpose of absorbing the maxi mum amount of carbon dioxide from the air. The wonderful Improvements which hybridization has already effect ed save this idea from being regarded as too fanciful. ? Harper's Weekly, Greatest Milton Scholar a~ Woman.
