Mies Laura Grler, of Charleston, who has been visiting Miss Ada Phelps, returned to* her home last week. While In Camden Miss Grler very accomodatingly loaned her beautiful voice to the different church choirs, and also to the Mis sion benefit at the {Starr. On last Monday afternoon the home of Mr. aud Mrs. Henry Elkle, on Fair street, was gay with the bright faces, and merry with the happy voices of tweuty-five little "tote," who had come together to celebrate the seventh birthday of Master Simon, the bright little son of the home. After the usual iound of games, they eujoyed to the full est extent the daluty refreshments Bet before them on a beautifully decorated table. Application Rejected. ^ Application was made one day kln?t^week fo| a marriage license \ljlch had to be rejected. The facts In the case showed that the woman making application has once married, but has not heard from her husband In three years. In cases of this kind the law spe cifies that seven years must elapse before the parties are again legally capacitated to contract matrimony. Upon the&e grounds the Probate Judge refused to issue the license. The Best of the Season. On Thursday, Oct. 17, the attrac tion at the Opera House with Mr. Bert Leigh in the j3$troldf McGrath comedy, "The Man on the Box." Ever since the first production with Henry E. DIxey In the lead ing role, this play has been a strong favorite with theatre goers.
