brought on considerable discussion,

two gentlemen, Mr. .1. T) Deggs and
Mr. D. II McMillan, who wore a*,
hinting us iu the ai rungoinent of the
consolidation, diectmsod the eon ton
tion of Dr. llobroii. with regard to
the position of tlie names, ami fail
ing to agree, they atatud that we

yield this point, and it was suggested
that I allow the "and" from the head

with bin flat drawn in my face, ho
said. "I'. is false 1 It is a false
hood I" J struck him several time*,
during which time I said, "Yon can
not call me a liar, sir." I did not
know hut what he wan going to
strike me any moment, until be raised
his hands and said. "Oh. Hrother
llolley, X did not mean to say that
you had told mo a falsehood, but that
Ton hnd misconstrued my motive."
1 said to him, "l>r. Ilobsou, you can
not call mo a liar, sir." IIo then pro

Since this unfortunate occurrence,
I havo made repented attempts to

This statement was submitted to an
informal meeting of deacons. 1 de
clined to go before no official body,
a-s no charges had boon preferred.
O.i June 27th I was called before
the deacons for tho purpose of pro
ducing additional Information, which
I complied with, substantiating tho
points I had mndo before. At this
meeting I Insisted that tho deacons
