One occurred on the river front near the French market, where the steamship Engineer was loading for Liverpool; the other occurred ubout four miles distant in the direction of Carroll ton at the foot of Philip street. Only one tun ii William Campbell, colored was killed in the affair. The mimes of the killed are as follows: WILLIAM OAMPBl-iLL, colored. JULES OAKKABEE. Another bloody riot occurred tills morning. The scene of the conilict was on the river front between St. Aim and Duinaine 'streets. Three men were killed almost outright, while a number were wounded. The killing was done by a mob of white mcu numbering about two hundred who were armed with pistols and Win chester rillea. The negroes were about to start to work on board the steamer Engineer, lying at that i?oint, when white meu approached from all directions. All were armed and many took positions be hind box cars, and poured volley ujkjii volley into the negroes. Those who were j^pon the scene say thut it reminded them of^a fcattle-ficld, so fast and furious was the firing. The negroes were given i;o quarter, and were shot down like dogs. Not only were the darkies shot down, but several innocent pernons suffered. Among those killed was Jules Clice Cara bee, a shoemaker, who happened to be in the vicinity. James Hane, the purser of the Engineer was standing on the levee near his whip when the attack was made, and he received four wounds, three in the head and another in ti e arm.
