Waddill and daughter, Francis, spent several days this week in Washington, D. C. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Waddill who has been visiting there for several weeks. Mr. G. NT. Duvall returned from the the hospital in Columbia on Tuesday uight. A. L. ? Latta, W. E. Duvall, T. S. Evans and j S. K. Smith came near having a very \ serious automobile accident near Mar- < ion, S. C. The party left Oheraw early in the morning for a fishing trip on f Little Pee Dee River. When hearing Jl Marion they came to a sharp J.urn in \ the road unexpectedly and as the ;j brakes on the car were not working, ^ slowing down was not possible. The \ car and occupants skidded Into the ? ditch and turned on its side breaking J the wind shield and tearing the top. A Mr. A. L. Latta suffered the most painful injury. His hand Was thrown 4 against a barbed wire fence, cutting an | 4 urgly gash and breaking a small bonoj* in his hand. He was taken to Marion V 4 where the bone wa6 reset, and four- ^ teen stitches were taken to close the j gash in his hand. i ^ Mr. W. E. Duvall was cut on the < hand by broken glass from the wind * shield. Messrs. S. K. Smith and T. S.
