N Uiiunnrf UiiiiUiiiUkL JOE* LDTOSAY, Editor Foreign Advertising Representative THE AMERICAN PRESS ASSOCIATION Boys Cause Trouble. 1 N Several boys caused considerable annoyance and trouble to a number of people on Tuesday night when they set fire to one of the large pine tree? in the Matheson grove on Kershaw ?t?oiit A M?rh winrl wne hlntvinp- ami OH vvi. ?CJ *" " the blazing tree sent sparks in every direction alarming the neighborhood. Chief Jacobs was called, who brought several convicts from the camp near town. They had to cut the tree down before being able to extinguish the Are. The Mathesons lost a valuable tree and had the other trees in the grove placed in danger of being burned by mischievous boys who have given trouble before along the same line. The parents of these boys should look into their pranks and see that their neighbors are not worried again by occurrences like the above. o We understand that subscription? for Capital Stock are being solicited for the building of a large potatoe curing house to be located in Cheraw Those interested in the project sav they are only asking farmers to subscribe for the stock as they feel that it is the farmer's business and he is the 'one who should back the enter. Drise. Every farmer in this community should be interested fn planting potatoes and of course cur ng them. It will be better to star' his year with another money cror o helD out the cotton. See T. S. Evans and take a few shares. Elsewhere in this issue will be found the Chesterfield County banks endorsement of the Cooperative Marketing plan. Every one understands that the interests of Farmer and th< Banks are identical. If the Banks did not think the marketing plan was the best way for the farmer tc sell his cotton they would be injuring themselves if they endorsed it. So, Mr. Farmer, your Banker says it's all right. Better sign the con. tract and help "put over" the plan. ATTENTION (OTTON FARMERS!
