It I is, without a doubt, an excellent showing and the present administra tion certainly deserves "Well Done for the creditable way in which the.have managed the finances of the town. We have better streets that we have had in years. Wfe have a: good a water works system as anj town this size in the State. We havi / an adequate fire fighting equipmei and more money on hand than in j former years. The bond Indebtedness - of the town is in round figures $133,000 with about $24,000 in the sinking fund account toward meeting this in debtedntes, which is more thai enough in proportion to retire ttu bonds when due. The town is now in fine shape to consider paving our business section. We need this improvement and it would give employment when it is most needed and it would help our feelings a lot to see something going on even if we have to pay for it. LET'S GET BUSY. Henry Ford did horses and mules a great favor last week when he almost cut the price of Fordson tractors in two in the middle. At ore stroke the price was reduced from $625 to $395. Marshville Motor Co. are distributing agents at Marshville. Their announcement appears in the advertising columns of The Hoome this week. While Mr. Ford was busy making an undreamed of low price on his tractor the fertilizer trust, which has increased fertilize) I trust, which has increased fertilizer prices lately, was busy sending out propaganda designed to show that Mr. Ford will not be able to decrease fertilizer prices if he gets a lease on Suscle Shoals.
