The really good weekly newspape promotes the interests of the town ii Which it is published to such an ex tent that it becomes impossible t( place an estimate upon its wortl There is no enterprise that does si much for the corporation or me m dividual citizen as the paper. It i the friend of everything that stand for the upbuilding of the community The paper has not yet come into it own. however, because it is never ap preciated to the extent of its wotrl by the people at large. Yet w'hei battles are to be fought for town o county a rush is made to the news paper office, always to find the lova editor ready, frequently without hop< of rewarwd. Many other enterprises are encur aged by a bonus, but rarely is the pa , ? per offered any such 'help. Communi ties not infrequently lose sight of the real benefactor when they fail to rec ognize the weekly paper in their mids as such. The minister and the editoi go "hand in hand as the bulwark o: defense against the attacks of evil 01 designing schemes affecting the indi vidual or the town. For these and other good reasons the newspaper of the town and county should receive the support of the pub lie at large in a very liberal degree for it is really the most importani business enterprise of the community The editor is a business man and no a mendicant and should be recognizee as the most important factor in thi community, for poor indeed is th< town or corporation that 'has not a least one of these necessary persons In it.?New York American.
