The greater influence of the rural schools upon the surrounding communities, homes and industry is to be given a practical test in Kansas this fall and coming winter as the result of the Intention expressed by more ^ than 800 rural school teachers to Initiate social center activity in con- T nection with their school work during | the approaching school year, in four- , teen counties of the state, practically every school house is to be a commu- ( nity center. About the rural school, there natur- , ally revolves most that makes for the community spirit in the country and , small villages.
