Come e it for yourself. v Drug Co] rhe Quality Store The question "Shall the Legislature Pass a Compulsory Education Law," was debated by the Cheraw Lyceum Tuesday night and decided in the negative by a vote of 7 to C; quite a number ?ot voting because of a misunderstanding. The question was then put in another form, and the vote was very decidedly in favor of some sort of a "local option" compulsory law. Quite a number was present and the discussion was much enjoyed by all. The editor of The Chronicle was struck on the eye by some small object on Monday, the bruise later developing into an abcess, as a result he has been unable to do any work this week, we therefore ask the indulgence of our readers. *** Beginning Sunday morning, February 1st. Rev. J. Andrew Smith, of Statesville, N. C., will conduct an exangelistic service in the Presbyterian church in this city. There will be two services a day for eight days. The morning service at 11 o'clock, and the evening service at 8 o'clock. The morning service will last only one hour.
