Although the weather had been very cool for the time of the year and all vegetation, as a result, was very backward, the very large quantity of flowers massed in League Hall was a sight beautiful to behold. The first thing one met with on en- J tering the door was a beautiful mound ento^iand arranged 1 I Godfrey. T?^ arrangement of this beautiful mass of. flowers was such as to bring out every color of a rainbow. The mound of sweet peas with pansies as a center piece, entered and arranged by Miss Etta Powe, was a center of attraction also. There were many beautiful and tastily arranged exhibits, but it is impossible in the space at hand to mentiontion each individual plant, collection and design, but I want to mention especially the beautiful design entered by Mr. Robert Thrower?a | Confederate Battle Flag. This de-1 sign was an exact reproduction of the J battle flag of the Confederacy, was designed and made by Mr. Robert Robert Thrower, nothing but flowers being used in its construction. It seems that the two negroes were at anegro celebration and got intOi a dispute.
