I THE CHRONICLE, Clinton, S. C., Dec. 17, 1970—1-C 4-H Members Return From Chicago Trip Three Laurens County 4-H members recently returned from a week’s trip to Chicago. The members are Billy Hunter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Hunter of Rt. 2, Gray Court, Rodney Osborne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Osborne of Rt. 2, Woodruff, and Gary Osborne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Osborne of Rt. 1, Clinton. Rodney and Billy won their trips showing Angus heifers at the Upper State and Spartan burg fairs. Gary won his trip at the Blue Ridge Stock Show in Spartanburg last March showing a Yorkshire gilt. They left November 28 and traveled on a chartered bus with a group of 4-H members from several counties in this area. They returned December 4. St. John's Councilmen Elected At a meeting of the congre gation of St. John’s Lutheran Church held on Sunday Morning, December 13th, the following persons were elected to the office of Church Councilmen for a three-year term of office, beginning January 1, 1971: Mr. B.W. Dominick, Mr. Lewis C. Pitts, and Mr. Paul Waters. These three men will be installed into their office as members of the governing body of the congregation as part of The Service on Sunday morning, December 27th. These men succeed Dr. N. Carl Wessinger, Mr. R. W. Boland and Mr. Ellis G. Huff- stetler, all of whom have completed a three-year term of office and are therefore in eligible to succeed themselves. At the same meeting of the congregation, the congregation officially approved the budget for the congregation of ap proximately $29,000 for the year 1971. While in Cnicago they toured the International Livestock Ex position which was being held at that time. The group also took in a rodeo in which Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were the stars. They stayed at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago, and visited a museum, a plane tarium, and other points of interest. All three of the boys agreed that they had an enjoy able trip, but were glad to get back to “Southern Cooking." W itnesses Attend Assembly Delegates from the local con gregation of Jehovah’s Wit nesses returned home Sunday night from a three-day assembly held in Camden. The gathering concluded with a program on Sunday afternoon. The highlight of the assembly was the principal address given on Sunday by D.J. Thoma^ district supervisor. Thomas spoke on the subject, “WhoWill Conquer the World in the 1970’s".
